What the Hell is going on?

I own this program... Somehow my update substituted this program for the one I had. Question? Whats wrong with it?
When I set the prefs for 500 points, bidder wins... Then I (north/ south) go over 500 points, sometimes east/west has less than 400 points, north/south will lose because as software will wait til east/west WAITS til they get over 500 points, What the hell is going on?
